What is the North Lanarkshire Federation?
The North Lanarkshire Federation of Tenant's and Resident's Associations (NLF) was established in September 2006. The Federation covers the whole of North Lanarkshire, supporting local groups and working to develop services in North Lanarkshire.
NLF is one of the Scotland’s largest and youngest Federations promoting tenants rights. It works tirelessly to enhance the voice of North Lanarkshire Council’s 37,000 tenants and their neighbours to have a meaningful impact into housing and related services. The need to have a constituted area wide Federation was identified, developed and is managed by residents for residents. The aims of the Federation are to:
1. Assist, establish and unify tenant & resident groups in North Lanarkshire
2. To work in partnership with landlords and service providers
3. To uphold equal opportunities and encourage community participation
4. To keep tenants groups fully informed and ensure adequate resources for tenant groups
The Federation is managed by an Executive Committee (EC) of up to twelve people who meet fortnightly throughout the year to manage the work.
