Sub-groups to be set up

In April this year the North Lanarkshire Federation will be starting work implementing the 3 year business plan. The plan was developed after extensive consultation with local groups through open meetings in Bellshill, Motherwell, Cumbernauld and Airdrie. The business plan will be received annually to ensure it keeps relevent to the members and needs of tenant groups in North Lanarkshire.
The business plan assists the Federation to prioritise the work and work effectively. Over the next three years the main priorities will be: Community Safety, Roads and Street Lighting and Waste Management. As part of this the committee will be setting up sub-groups dealing with each issue seperately. North Lanarkshire Council has agreed to provide staff to liaise with the Federation on each of the issues, so we will have a contact within the council to deal with.
The sub-groups will be made up with members of the committee but also members of local tenant groups who are members of the Fed. For the Federation to be successful we really need local input. This helps to bring in local skills, experiences and knowledge which is essential for the Federation to be successful.
